Thank you for stopping by, my name is Stephanie Burwell, and like you, I am a lover of all things DIY with a passion for fashion and sewing. As a little girl I was fascinated with the endless possibilities of being able to make things with your hands, which inevitably lead to dreams of making my own clothes. 

In 2011 I graduated with a degree in Fashion Merchandising having a bulk of experience in the retail world, but it wasn’t until the end of 2012 that I finally obtained my certificate in French Couture Dressmaking. My new found skill had me anxious and eager to get to work, so I began making custom clothing for friends and family to practice what I had learned. That experience was fun, but I quickly realized that what I truly wanted to do was make clothes for myself and teach others how they can do the same. 

In May of 2020, Sew With Stephanie was born to invite all sewing and craft lovers on my journey to transforming my wardrobe into one that was completely handmade. Since then I gave birth to my second child and quickly identified a huge gap in the at home sewing pattern industry. As I searched and researched ways to make my own post pregnancy clothing that focused on nursing, I was frustrated to find that nothing (cute at least) existed- it was as if the maternity and breast feeding market was completely forgotten about. This was when I knew that I could create a space for this need and develop and design patterns specific to this community. 

September of 2022 was the launch of my very first pattern, the Alexandra Dress and I can’t wait to share and provide more patterns with you all.
